CRIME and POVERTY In South Rural Florida | Pahokee
Pahokee, Florida, is where we are for this video. The city lies right along the southeastern shores of the all mighty Lake Okeechobee. From here it’s about a 45 minute drive east to get to West Palm Beach, and about a 15 minute drive south to get to Pahokee’s sibling of Belle Glade. Pahokee is the third and final video of the three cities of the Glades that I filmed while I was down here, and life in Pahokee is much like what life is like in both Belle Glade and South Bay.

CORRUPTION and VIOLENCE Has RUINED This Chicago Suburb | Robbins, Illinois
Переглядів 19 тис.День тому
Unfortunately Robbins is another south Chicago suburb that has a long history of violent crime and corruption. Those things have helped lead Robbins to look the way that it does today: Blighted, Ugly, Depressing and hopeless. At least Robbins has some rich African American history to be proud of. Hopefully things can change for this Village one day. Doesn't seem like that'll happen though. 0:00...
A BLIGHTED Chicago Suburb On Its Last Leg | Dixmoor, Illinois
Переглядів 21 тис.14 днів тому
Dixmoor is a south suburb of Chicago that is in rough shape. Things here look very similar to what you'll find in the south neighboring city of Harvey. One thing that Dixmoor shares in common with other south Chicago suburban communities is corruption. I talk about it, the crumbling infrastructure, the rioting from the 60's and the former steel plant in town while showing you other blighted blo...
A DANGER ZONE in Suburban Chicago | Sauk Village, Illinois
Переглядів 63 тис.21 день тому
Sauk Village is starting to show the early stages of a long economic downfall. The cities population peaked at nearly 11,000 back in 1980. Since then the population has dipped to around 9,500, with the strongest decline coming since 2020. There might not be as much abandonment and blight in Sauk Village today as there is in Harvey, Chicago Heights or Ford Heights, but I believe that there will ...
DANGEROUS, Abandoned, Ugly and Hopeless | Harvey, Illinois

Harvey today is a city that's full of blight, vacant lots and abandonment. It's has had a rough go of it over the years to put it nicely. The city saw a peak population of 35,000 back in 1980 but today that number is down below 20,000. It's hard to see this community being able to turn it around anytime soon... or... possibly... ever. 0:00 - 8:04 Halsted St/What Harvey is like today 8:04 - 19:0...
Declining, Yet Still Smiling | Calumet City, Illinois

Calumet City, Illinois is known for its smiley face water towers more than anything else these days. SUBURBAN CHICAGO: Ugly, Decaying and Dying | Riverdale, IL

Not to be confused with the Chicago suburb of the same name, the Village of Riverdale is about 20 miles south of the Chicago Loop and about 5 miles west of the Indiana State Line. Chris. I grew up in Grosse Pointe Farms and now I live in Detroit after a stint in New York and Chicago. You hit the nail on the head with your videos for the most part. If there is any chance we could meet up on your next tour of Detroit, and I would recommend (sp?) it I would only be too honored. I have renovated the gardens in many Detroit parks as my job requires including the park in front of the newly renovated Michigan Central Train station. The changes since your last visit are remarkable and not all due to gentrification as most cities see as their hallmarks of revitalization.

Lived in STL all my life. Worked in LE for some time as well. The problems that plague Saint Louis (crime, homeless, drugs, property value, etc.) are the fault of city government officials and all the other public services departments. Terrible public transportation, misusing or blowing the people's taxes, lack of quality public services offered, segregation of neighborhoods from systemic racism, terrible police department, refusal to join the county like any other US city in this country, lack of after school activities, poor infrastructure/roads, poor education system or schools, vacant buildings, outsourcing, lack of incentives for citizens and businesses, high taxes with zero benefits, drug trafficking routes, construction, abandoned property, and terrible enforcement of city codes, housing, and laws. I know that's a lot but it all leads back to our wonderful city government officials. They've done all of this.

As long as China keeps giving red blooded americans a break on Taxes and incentives to give up their patents we will continue to see towns like this one flourish all across the U.S. Who will guarantee us that there will not be another 1930's depression? We continue holding on to our hate and thinking we can just land in any country...times have changed. Post WW2 is now over welcome to a Tri Lateral World Power.

The Flint Processing center was originally known as The Otterburn Plant since it was built in a small berg named Otterburn. I don't remember anything being there at that time but a gas station. The Mary Crapo school was at one time the High School until about 1960. I went to school there from kindergarten to halfway through 8th grade, at that time the Middle School opened.

Wood River doesn't look that bad at all. Granted its a modest town with basically blue collar residents but not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. Some of your commentary is disingenuous as well. Population loss is not always because people are moving out but rather families are having less children and young people are not getting married and starting families. Yes Illinois has high property taxes but most people are leaving Illinois due to lack of jobs or are retiring to warmers climates. Furthermore businesses are not leaving because of taxes but rather for lower labor costs which they can find in places like Texas which are void of unions. And finally property crimes are not necessarily being committed by a towns residents but rather by out of town people who reside in poorer areas of the region.

I would wager mental health issues top the list for homelessness, with many other issues related to this such as difficulty holding jobs, alcoholism, drug use, and difficulty interacting, and adapting to a structured lifestyle. This problem is bigger than a state, and has much to do with the literal trainwreck that is our health care system, insurance companies, and pharmacuetical companies, and the costs, and difficulty obtaining these services associated with it. Simple dental care in this country is a joke, the mental health care is figuratively, and literally insane. Lobbyists, and those in their pockets are ruining our country, not the people IN GENERAL.

The democrats only destroy America at every chance. Look at every city they are in charge of. The democrats took over your city through the Unions. The unions were always connected and run by the mob. The same was happening in Missouri till we got the democrats out rino Roy blunt and Claire McCastle. now we are getting long over due road projects done like bridges. clean up projects, businesses. St. Louis is still blue controlled and a big mess. KC is in better shape.
